“But surely she should be on the telly? Her stuff’s SO funny and so brilliantly performed... ”
Jenny has travelled all over performing her original songs in all sorts of places including variety and cabaret nights, music and comedy gigs, school assemblies, churches, radio, bars, clubs and people's living rooms. She likes singing songs and doing things that make people laugh. Sometimes people give her money. Whether it's money for a cd, money to keep singing or money to be quiet is of no consequence. It's still money. To celebrate her 30th birthday, Jenny performed 30 gigs in a month for charity raising £2k for the brilliant Children's Trust. So that was a nice bit of money. Just not for her.
Jenny has gigged with Will Self, Shazia Mirza, Paul Kerensa, Adam Buxton, Henning Wehn, Sara Pascoe and has stood very close to Richard Herring. Unlike before where they shared a gig and she got all nervous being in the same room as a famous person, Jenny supported Tim Vine for a couple of Edinburgh previews last summer and she actually talked to him. She's found out he had a guest appearance on Neighbours. She's well jealous.
People have said some good things about Jenny's music. The guys at Kooba Radio say, “beautiful lullaby vocals, ear for a folk melody and incisive comedy wit” This seems a pretty good thing to end on really :-)
