Niece of Jamaican Reggae Legend Keith Hudson and cousin of Acclaimed New York Hip Hop artist Keith "Tryfle" Hudson Jr. She was just 3 years old when she made her musical debut, moving her mum’s pots and pans out of the kitchen and arranging them in the front room, like a drum kit, beside her toy piano. Bashema's passion for music has only grown since then, teaching herself to sing & play the keyboard by ear, taking inspiration from songs heard around her.
In 2008 she started working at BCFM radio co-presenting The Bristol (UK) Music show. In 2009 she made her Glastonbury Festival debut playing on the Bandstand Stage & on Worthy FM Radio.  Later, in 2010, she went on to support Toploader at Gloucester's Guildhall.

Bashema has co-written (along with local musician Trish Brown) a charity single called ‘Lullaby’ to help raise money for the Wallace & Gromit "Cots for Tots" Appeal, supporting special care baby units. The single was recorded at St George’s Hall Bristol with backing from the Bristol Ensemble String Quartet.

Bashema’s EP and Video ‘Go with the Flow’ was released on September 14 2012. During 2013 Bashema joined the Nine piece all female Funk, Soul, Jazz Band "Meet Your Feet" as their lead singer. They recorded the highly acclaimed 'Unfinished Business' EP which was released in December 2013. Meet Your Feet have also recorded a single 'Bristol People' which was released in December 2014.

In 2015 Bashema will be writing and recording her full debut album.
