l fest July 21-24th 2017
new venue - prestwold hall ESTATE
Back in August 2016 we started our search for a new venue, let me tell you this is no easy task trying to please 1000+ of you! We needed a central location, good access, some indoor facilities, lots of countryside, a venue that wanted our event there and didn't break the bank. I am pleased to tell you that Prestwold Hall Estate offers all of this.
L Fest 2017 will be using the the fields of the estate, (Not the hall itself, athough should you want a wedding in there please do enquire!)
- Festival Green Fields: The site is surrounded by trees and beautiful countryside (as a festival should be!)
- LFEST Fun: More outdoor activities and revelry....think workshops, art galleries, even DJ's...IN TREES!
Prestwold Hall & Estate is home to Edward Packe-Drury-Lowe and his children. Edward is lovely and really wants L Fest 2017 to be a success. Edward is a hands-on farmer responsible for the management of over 1,000 hectares of farmland, parkland and an airfield. He is passionate about producing food, safeguarding wildlife resources, and providing amenity and outdoor leisure events.
So all in all we are very happy at L Fest HQ with our new venue and we hope that all of you can join us on July 21-24th 2017 and make it the biggest L Fest to date! We will have many new changes to our programme and we are applying for many grants, which if secured would help us fund even more wonderful artists to add to the L Fest programme. Watch this space for line up information in April.
this venue gives us what you asked for in your feedback.....
Our L Festers travel from all over the UK and now from around the world so location is very important. Loughborough is just 25 miles from the centre of England, 7 miles from the airport, close to motorways and trains so we think Prestwold Hall is great for all L Festers.
funny but true!
We know a huge grumble in the past has been beer prices. Thats why we will be doing our own bars at L Fest 2017. This means you get affordable beer AND in turn you support our festival, its win win!
When you look out from your tent at Prestwold and find you are surrounded by trees and fields I think you will realise why we have choosen this location. More outdoor activities, more fresh air and no racecourse commercialism...just as a festival should be!
