Stanstock Events

You may think that Cindy has a well earned rest in between LFest and L Festive,  but she also runs www.stanstockevents.co.uk. This weekend she is organising a camping and party weekend for 60 people at her family home.  It is like a mini festival with family games, music,  bbq, Country walks and lots lots more.  She also organises weddings, stag and hen and big birthday parties. You name it she will organise it. You can even bring your own food and drink.   Cindy loves a party xxx

L Fest Events, lots of new ideas ☆★☆

I met up wih Cindy yesterday,  she was buzzing.  She had just had a meeting with Spring Out organisers, the company that coordinates the Cinema and Arts programme at LFest.  Lots of good feed back and fresh new ideas for next year.

Cindy was also talking about her ideas for L Fest Events,  such as wedding and party co ordination, also a new Stanstock Festival in 2014 and L Fest Del Mar in Southern Spain in June 2014. Phew!! So many ideas......l look forward to helping with planning and business development xx

Farmer Phil's Day 2

Not put off by yesterday's disgusting toilets, rough terrain,  no electricity and a downpours,  I was determined to go back to the festival, wearing my wellies.  John didn't want to go, which came as no surprise as we don't like the same music,  but  I was a bit disappointed when Cindy and Laurie arrived on the doorstep.  Cindy looked rough and said that she was kept awake until 4.00pm thanks to noisy neighbours and they were going home!!!. However after a cup of tea,  a bit of persuading and a hot shower, they decided to go back,  much to my  delight. The day was slow getting off the ground, however Clock Tower and Merry Hell got us rocking. The entertainment was much better than the day before. The high spot for me was when The Red Hot Chilli Pipers came on. They really got the crowd on their feet, infact it was the biggest crowd of the weekend.  They were so talented, polished , professional and exciting.  They were in a league of their own.
All in all I loved it,  it was great to be out in the fresh air, listening to music. It was a great place to people watch and look at the various fashions - do people really dress like that or was it fancy dreass?  It was a music festival,  but it wasn't L Fest,  L Fest is so much more. L Fest is life changing for so many women. L Fest is caring, sharing and emotional.  L Fest is Music, Arts and Comedy.  L Fest is Cindy's dream xx

Farmer Phils day one

Wow just spent the weekend at Farmer Phil's festival at Ratlinghope with Cindy, Laurie and (some of the time) John. My first impression was OMG I am so pleased that Cindy didn't go to festival before organising L Fest,  it was a shambles! !! The stewards on the gate wreaked of booze and didn't look at all professional. L Fest staff are not allowed to drink with their L Fest T shirts on.  Then we found the loos to say I was shocked is an understatement!  I felt sick and quickly moved to the next one which wasn't any better and this was at the beginning of the festival.

We watched Beth Prior who was fantastic and enjoyed the accoustic stage. John had had enough by about 6.00pm and said he would pick me up later. I enjoyed spending time with Cindy and Laurie. Cindy was on a roll thinking about Stanstock 2014!!!! Developing a new entrance and which date would be the best.  She decided on the 4th July, so watch this space. .......you heard it hear first.

At about 8.00pm the electricity failed we waited about an hour for it to get fixed, but by this time it was raining cats and dogs! ! I decided to call it a day,  so Laurie and Cindy made bacon butties and we  called it a day.

First Day

What an amazing first day, over 1000 women came rushing through the gates. Some had been stuck in traffic for hours but the Crew were there to give them a very warm (very hot) welcome and help them with their tents.

The atmosphere was incredible,  the venue was fantastic I think it must have been built for L Fest! !!!  Cindy opened the Festival by welcoming everyone.  The crew entertained with a very 'enthusiastic' dance which was given a rapturius applause.   I popped in for 10 mins and I was bursting with pride to see Cindy so confident on the stage.  The evening finished with a firepit session thanks to Fish and friends. Now this is where it gets a bit vague:-( I remember singing 3 of my favourite songs!!

Anyway must go now. Going back on the gate in 30 mins . My son Gareth has come over from  Denmark to help and I don't know how we would have managed without him. Also it is lovely to spend time with him.  I could write loads ....... but one proud Mum has to go to work xx

All packed up ready to go. I don't know how Cindy stays calm but she does, and she thrives on creating the biggest, lesbian festival in the UK. There are over 1, 000 women getting ready to descend on Uttoxeter Racecourse tomorrow.

5.00 am a beautiful sunrise,  the birds are singing, (feathered variety only!) Lots of work to do, but we will be ready. Now where did the ticket scanner go?  Please form a queue at the gate until we find it xx

I am new to Blogging, so please bear with me. Cindy and Reanda  went up to Uttoxeter last night to 'set up camp' ahead of the CREW.  The CREW will all be making their way to Uttoxeter today and the excitement mounts.  How do you turn a Racecourse into a Lesbian Festival of Music and Arts. ?  Watch this space! It is going to be HOT, HOT , HOT so I hope they are up early and getting on with the jobs.  I am going up with Rosie later today, for a CREW meeting tonight.  Rosie and I are Gate and Parking Managers and also will be making sure the L Fest Lovelies are there to meet you with their pink wheel barrows and to help you to put up your tents if you need help.  The great thing is, everyone helps everyone else, it is so friendly. The dodgems arrived last night...... Cindy didn't sleep much!!  I think it will be the same for the next few nights.  Who needs sleep when you can run on adrenalin x
